NATURE OF INCIDENT: Fire
CASE NO.: 16004126
INCIDENT DATE: 4/30/2016
INCIDENT TIME: 01:19
INCIDENT LOCATION: 414 S. 63rd Ave W.

The Duluth Fire Department responded to a report of a fully involved warehouse fire at 414 S. 63rd Ave. West. The first due fire company reported a fully involved warehouse fire with explosions going off in the interior of the building and immediately declared a defensive mode of operation which would be an attack of the fire with large diameter hoses from the outside of the structure. Aerial devices with master streams and large bore hand lines brought this fire under control in a fair amount of time. A report of someone being in the building at the time of the fire was deemed unfounded in a later stage of the fire. Fire crews continued to apply water and check for hot spots until the fire was brought under control. No one was injured in this fire, it was investigated and the cause is undetermined and still under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshals Office. Nineteen firefighters with 6 pieces of apparatus responded to this fire. Initial damage is estimated to be $90,000 to the building and contents.  No other information is available at this time.
