Y.W.C.A. Mother’s Day Walk/ Run

On Saturday, May 7th, the Y.W.C.A. Mother's Day 2 mile walk and 5K Race will take place in West Duluth. The 5K Race starts at 7:45 a.m. and the 2 mile walk starts at 8:30 a.m.

This year's event will begin at the Heritage Center located at 29th Avenue West and Michigan Street.  Runners and walkers will travel from the Heritage Center parking lot up to Superior Street.  They will head west out to 39th Avenue West, north on 39th Avenue West, head  east to 34th Avenue West, back to Wade Stadium where they will enter and lap the ball field. They will continue and return to a finish line at the Heritage Center parking lot.  Superior Street, Jenswold Drive, Michigan Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Carlton Street to 39th Avenue West.

Area streets will begin closing at 7:15 a.m. and will re-open about 10:00 a.m.  Drivers in the area of the event are asked to use caution, watch for pedestrians along with officers directing traffic.  Please find alternative routes due to road closures.
