INCIDENT LOCATION: 800 block of Upham Road in Duluth

On Tuesday, May 10th, 2016 at approximately 4:21 p.m., Duluth Police and the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force arrested 35 year old Marques Anthony Jones after executing a search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of Upham Road. During the execution of the search warrant, investigators located and seized 5.8 grams of methamphetamine, $3,490.00 in U.S. Currency, and other evidence of drug sales. While attempting to arrest Jones, he physically resisted the arrest and investigators struggled to place him into handcuffs. Jones was taken to jail and formally charged in St. Louis District Court for 2nd Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance and Obstructing the Legal Process.

Jones was also arrested on a federal warrant issued for violating his federal probation as a result of a conviction in 2009 for conspiracy to distribute 350-500 grams of methamphetamine.
