On May 28th, 2016, at approximately 11:08 a.m., a Duluth Police Department arrested 23 year old Zachary James Overfors for possession of stolen property along with other charges.  A Duluth Police Sergeant observed a vehicle in the area of Mesaba Avenue and Michigan Street make a quick turn at a high rate of speed from the right lane into the left lane without signaling and was preparing to stop the vehicle for the violation. He ran a computer check on the license plate and determined that the car had been reported stolen. The vehicle was stopped at 1st Avenue East and 7th Street. The occupants were ordered out of the vehicle. After speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, officers determined that one of the occupants, Overfors, obtained the vehicle from an individual in the area of 27th Avenue West and Michigan Street prior to picking up the two other occupants.  Overfors was arrested and during a search, a hypodermic needle was located.  Overfors was taken to jail and formally charged in St. Louis District Court with felony receiving stolen property, illegal possession of hypodermic needles, and driving after revocation.
