[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth, Duluth Economic Development Authority, Sherman Associates, and the Duluth Playhouse are excited to announce that final details to start the restoration of the historic NorShor Theatre in Duluth's Historic Arts and Theatre (HART) District have been approved. The 100+ year old theatre has had a vibrant history showcasing artists such as Charlie Chaplin and current musical stars, Trampled by Turtles. The next chapter of the theatre's story is yet to be written with a new life and new legacy.

 

The $30.5 million project is set to start construction in the next week with planned updates to improve visitor experiences, accessibility, expand programs, and sustain the theatre into its next century. DEDA selected developer, Sherman Associates, to manage the construction and transformation of the theater with the Duluth Playhouse overseeing the future management of the facility.
