Minnesota Slip Bridge in Canal Park Temporarily Out of Service

 

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is informing the public that the Minnesota Slip Bridge (also known as the Blue Bridge) is temporarily out of service as of today, June 19. High winds caused the east side cables to jump the spool. The east side plank is secured in the down position. The west side plank is pinned in the up position to allow marine traffic to pass.

 

The contractor will assist with determining necessary repairs before the City can provide a specific timeframe for full operations to resume. Pedestrians in Canal Park needing access to the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center or Bayfront Festival Park in the meantime will need to take either Lake Drive or Canal Park Drive to access Railroad Street.

 

The City will notify the public once a repair timeframe has been developed.
