SUBJECT: 29 year old Male Arrested on Drug and Child Endangerment Charges Update

On Monday, June 27th 2016 at 9:16 p.m. Duluth and Hermantown Police Departments along with the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force arrested 29 year old Ellis Scott Tooles of Eagan, MN and 31 year old Chantel Elaine Dybvig of Duluth. Tooles and Dybvig were arrested after a search warrant was executed at a hotel in the area of the 4100 block of Haines Road in Hermantown, MN. Investigators made contact with the occupants of the hotel room; Toole, Dybvig and three minor children. During the execution of the search warrant, investigators located and seized 91 grams of methamphetamine, 5 grams of heroin, a large amount of cash, and other evidence of drug sales. Tooles and Dybvig were both taken to jail and formally charged in St. Louis District Court for 1st degree possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree possession of a controlled substance, and child endangerment.

 

Update on Male Charged in Drug Sales:

 

After 29 year old Ellis Scott Tooles of Eagan, MN was arrested and charged in St. Louis District Court for 1st degree possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree sale of a controlled substance, and child endangerment, Tooles has been formally charged in Dakota County with seven counts of Possession of Pornographic Work Involving Minors. A follow up investigation was conducted after the Eagan Police Department received information regarding content on a cell phone belonging to Tooles.
