 VOTER INFORMATION FOR THE 2016 PRIMARY

 

[Duluth, MN] - The State Primary Election takes place on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. All individuals who intend to pre-register to vote in the Primary still have time to return their voter registration cards to the Duluth City Clerk's office by Tuesday, July 19, 2016.

 

Voter registration cards may be obtained through July 19th from the City Clerk’s Office, Room 330, 411 W. 1st Street, 730-5500, or access the form online at the City Clerk’s website: http://www.duluthmn.gov/city-clerk/election-and-voter-info/

 

The Main Library and all Branch Libraries also have cards available (please check time schedule for Library hours).

 

Basic requirements to vote in the State Primary Election are as follows:

             -- the person must have become 18 years of age on or before August 9, 2016

             -- the person must have lived in the State of Minnesota for 20 days prior to

                the election (which would be July 19, 2016)

             -- the person must have been a citizen for three (3) months prior to the

                election (which is May 9, 2016)

 

Absentee ballots are now available at the City Clerk's Office. The office will be open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, August 6th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Monday, August 8th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Individuals voting by absentee ballot or on election day who are not already registered or need to change their address must, at the time of voting, present an ACCEPTABLE identification at the polling site. For a list of acceptable forms of identification on Election Day, please check the Secretary of State’s website at http://www.sos.state.mn.us/elections-voting/election-day-voting/

 

The General Election will take place on November 8.
