Minnesota Slip Bridge Currently Out of Service as of July 13 

 

[Duluth, MN] - Due to the high winds during general operations, the cable uncoiled from the spool causing a disruption to the operations of the Minnesota Slip Bridge (blue pedestrian bridge in Canal Park). The Bridge will remain pinned up until the service contractor can make repairs. Duration of the repairs is unknown at this time.

 

Access between the DECC and Canal Park businesses is available taking Lake Drive. The City thanks the public for their patience. 

 

The City is looking into a retrofit for the Bridge and has contracted with an engineering firm to look at a more permanent fix to the machinery of the Bridge to improve operations and maintain consistent public access. Those designs will be completed later this year with the retrofit potentially taking place over the winter.
