Power Restored to Duluth Water Plant

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth has been working with MN Power since this morning and is happy to report that power has been restored to the Lakewood Water Treatment plant. The storm caused a massive power outage resulting in a shut down of the water plant and a request by the City for residents to conserve water. This request is being rescinded as the water system is now fully operational. The City is grateful to MN Power for their diligence and partnership to restore power.

The City Street Maintenance crews continue to clear debris from residential streets and the City is working to determine debris collection options which will be announced once details are confirmed.

As a reminder, the DECC has offered the City side convention hall (entrance B) as a cooling center for anyone needing to cool down in this hot weather. The facility is open until 10 PM tonight and from 10 AM to 10 PM tomorrow, July 22.

If there are any remaining areas with downed trees blocking city streets or sidewalks, residents can call (218) 730-4357 to report the location. The City urges residents to use caution in areas with downed trees and power lines. The City thanks the public for their patience.
