Spirit Valley Parade Traffic Advisory – West Duluth, Thursday August 4th at 6:00 p.m.

Street Closure and Parking Restriction;

Parade units will line up on 59th Avenue West between Raleigh Street and Grand Avenue beginning at 4:30 p.m.   Parade route closures will begin about 5:30 p.m., and the parade will begin at 6:00 p.m.

 

Parade Route:

The Parade route will head East on Grand Avenue from 59th Avenue West to Central Avenue, south on Central Avenue past Ramsey Street to Bristol Street, left on Bristol where the parade will disband before Mike Colalillo Drive. The parade units will use all of Grand Avenue from 59th Avenue West to Central Avenue, and all of Central Avenue and Bristol Streets.

Vehicle traffic will be detoured off Grand Avenue for the parade between 59th Avenue West and Central Avenue starting at about 5:30 p.m.

Eastbound traffic on Grand Avenue will be detoured North on 59th Avenue West toward Cody Street and Eighth Street. 

Westbound traffic on Grand Avenue will be detoured North on Central Avenue toward Cody Street and Eighth Street.

 

DTA Buses:

 The DTA will use Cody Street as a detour. Westbound Buses will turn up Central Avenue and travel West on Cody to 59th Ave W.   Eastbound buses will turn up 59th Avenue West to Cody and travel East to Central Avenue.

 

Super One Foods:

 Entrance/Exit will be accessible at Central Avenue and the rear driveway on Bristol Street

All avenues and exits onto Grand between 59 Avenue West and Central Avenue will be closed during the Parade.

59th Avenue West will be blocked from Grand Avenue to Raleigh Street at 4:30pm for the Parade line-up area.

 

No parking will be allowed on either side of Grand Avenue along the parade route, on 59th Avenue West from Raleigh St to Grand Ave, on Central Avenue from Grand Ave to Bristol St, and on Bristol Street from Central Avenue to Mike Colalillo Drive "No Parking" signs will be posted along these routes. Vehicles in violation will be tagged and towed.

Motorists should be alert to detours and officers directing traffic.

In Addition, the following streets will be barricaded and closed from Wednesday August 5th to Sunday August 9th for Spirit Valley Days:

Ramsey Street - from 57th Ave W to Central Avenue

57th Ave W - from Grand Ave to Bristol Street

These streets will also be posted "No Park".

Drivers are urged to use caution when travelling these areas due to street closures and pedestrians in the area.
