Water Main Project To Close Kenwood Avenue Tomorrow

 

[Duluth, MN] The city of Duluth is informing the public about the upcoming closure of Kenwood Avenue at the Cleveland Street intersection, which is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 7:00 A.M unless rain today pushes the closure to Friday.

The closure of Kenwood Avenue is anticipated to last one day unless the weather or unforeseen conditions require additional days for construction.  This closure will allow for the connection of the new water main on Cleveland Street to the existing water main under Kenwood Avenue.

The water main work will not impact water service to individuals or businesses.

There is a signed detour route for Kenwood Avenue, directing traffic to the College Street detour (see detour map).

The city encourages the public to access the Kenwood Shopping Center and businesses in the area from either Arrowhead Road or the shopping center alley behind Subway.

In the next few weeks additional work will require temporary partial closures of the Arrowhead/Kenwood intersection.  The public is reminded to watch for changeable message signs for updates and press releases.
