Kenwood Ave and Cleveland St. Intersection Closure Planned for Week of August 22

 

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is informing the public about the upcoming closure of Kenwood Avenue at the Cleveland Street intersection, which is scheduled for Monday, August 22, 2016 at 7:00 A.M. This closure is planned as part of the utility and traffic signal upgrades in the area to alleviate congestion and promote better pedestrian and traffic flow. 

The closure of Kenwood Avenue at Cleveland Street is anticipated to last the full week unless work is completed in a shorter period of time.  This closure will allow for disconnecting the old watermain on Cleveland Street and installing the light pole bases for the new signal system.

There is a signed detour route for Kenwood Avenue, directing motorists to use College Street. The City encourages the public to access the Kenwood Shopping Center and area businesses from either Arrowhead Road or the alley behind the Subway restaurant.


The public is reminded to drive slowly, use detour routes, and watch for changeable message signs.
