NEWS CONFERENCE

PARK POINT, 12TH STREET BEACH ENTRANCE AT LAKE AVE

 

 

[DULUTH, MN] - Duluth Fire Chief Dennis Edwards along with several community partners will hold a news conference to announce newly installed rescue stations along Park Point that will enhance safety for beach goers. The news conference will take place on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the 12th Street beach entrance off of Lake Ave, on Park Point. This location is host to one of the several new rescue stations.   

 

Fire Chief Dennis Edwards along with the partners will make brief remarks. The Duluth YMCA staff will demonstrate proper use of the rescue equipment.

 

Partners include:

Twin Ports Rip Current Workgroup made up of National Weather Service, City of Duluth Parks and Recreation, the Duluth Fire Department, MN and WI Sea Grant, Duluth YMCA, Park Point Volunteer Surf Rescue, Minnesota Department of Health, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
