INCIDENT LOCATION: Lake Superior Zoo
On Saturday, October 15th and October 22nd, the Boo at the Zoo Event will be held at the Lake Superior Zoo resulting in additional vehicle and pedestrian traffic along Grand Avenue.
On Saturday October 15th, due to construction on Grand Avenue, vehicle entrance into the zoo will be via Waseca Street from Grand Avenue and to exit will be on 72nd Avenue West. Drivers are asked to pay attention to signs directing you into the zoo lot.
Overflow parking will be at a few lots along Grand Avenue, and there will be shuttle buses from those lots into the zoo. Drivers, please watch for signs directing you to overflow lots and shuttle bus stops.
Pedestrian traffic may be heavy along Grand Avenue. Pedestrians choosing to walk from the overflow lots on Grand Avenue and not take shuttle buses are encouraged to follow the sidewalk on the lower side of the street to the lights. Please use the crosswalk at 72nd Avenue West to safely cross Grand Avenue.
There will be an increase in pedestrians to include young children. For everyone’s safety, drivers are reminded to slow down in the area, YIELD TO PEDESTRIANS IN THE CROSSWALKS, and to drive with caution in the area of this event.
