INCIDENT LOCATION: Downtown Duluth
On Friday, November 11th, the Veteran's Day March will be held in downtown Duluth. It will start forming in front of the Depot on Michigan Street at 9:00 a.m. After a brief ceremony, the march will proceed at 10:10 a.m. up 5th Avenue West to Superior Street, then east bound in the lower lane to Lake Avenue, turning right and traveling down the Lake Avenue Viaduct to Railroad Street. The march will turn right taking Railroad Street back to the North gate of the DECC. The March should be finished at approximately 11:00 a.m.
To facilitate event setup, Michigan street in front of the Depot will be closed to thru traffic starting at 9:00 a.m.
During the event, no traffic will be allowed in the East bound lane of Superior street from 5th Avenue West to Lake Avenue, in the south bound lane of Lake Avenue from Superior Street to Railroad Street, and the west bound lane on Railroad Street from Lake Avenue to the DECC’s north gate.
Police will be blocking roadways and intersections as the March progresses toward the DECC. Drivers are urged to use caution when driving in the area of the event.
