On Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016, 44 year old Jason Michael Stone of Brooklyn Center, MN was sentenced in Saint Louis County District Court (Duluth) to 90 months in prison after pleading guilty to Receiving Profits from Prostitution and 2nd Degree Sale of Methamphetamine, both felony offenses.
Stone was arrested in March of 2015 during an undercover operation conducted by members of the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force along with the Duluth, and Hermantown Police Departments. Investigators were targeting individuals who were using the website Backpage.Com to advertise prostitution services.
Stone has previous criminal convictions for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle, 4th Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, and Failure to Register. He is currently in the custody of the Minnesota Department of Corrections.
The Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and all their partner law enforcement agencies are committed to bringing individuals involved in human trafficking to justice.
