SUBJECT: Pedestrian Fatality (Update)

INCIDENT TIME: 12:40 p.m.
INCIDENT LOCATION: 40th Avenue East and London Road in Duluth

On Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 at 12:40 p.m., Duluth Police responded to the area of 40th Avenue East and London Road on a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.  Officers arrived at the scene and determined that a SUV driven by a 49 year old female struck a 62 year old female pedestrian.  The 62 year old female died at the scene.   Officers at the scene suspected driver impairment.  A search warrant was obtained and a blood test was conducted on the driver at a local hospital due to the suspected impairment.  The 49 year old female driver was transported to the St. Louis County Jail pending charges of Criminal Vehicle Homicide.  This is an active investigation and no additional information is available at this time.  We will release the name of the victim once family has been notified.
