INCIDENT LOCATION: North 1st Avenue West and West 5th Street in Duluth
On Monday, April 3rd, 2017, the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, Superior Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on a motor vehicle and individual following an investigation into the sale of controlled substances, specifically heroin. The search warrant was executed in the area of North 1st Avenue West and West 5th Street in the City of Duluth. During the search of the male, investigators recovered approximately 14 grams of heroin, individually packaged for sale, and U.S. currency. Investigators recovered an additional gram of heroin from the motor vehicle. 22 year old Kontrell Elander Drake Brown of Chicago, IL was arrested and taken to the St. Louis County Jail on a probable cause charge of 1st Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance.
On Wednesday, April 5th, 2017, Kontrell Brown was formally charged by the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office with 1st Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance. Brown’s bail was set at $12,000.
