INCIDENT LOCATION: 1500 block of East Superior Street in the City of Duluth
On Thursday, April 6th, 2017 at 3:30 p.m., the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 1500 block of East Superior Street in the City of Duluth. The search warrant was the result of an investigation into the suspected sale of controlled substances, specifically heroin, by a male at that address. During the search, investigators recovered approximately six grams of heroin, including heroin that was packaged for sale, and U.S. currency. Investigators arrested 55 year old Mark Anthony Dunigan, of Duluth, and lodged him at the St. Louis County Jail on a probable cause charge of 2nd Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance.
On Monday, April 10th, 2017, the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office formally charged Dunigan with 2nd Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance. Dunigan’s bail was set at $30,000.
Dunigan has an extensive criminal history including convictions since 1997 for 2nd Degree Assault, 3rd Degree Assault, 4th Degree Assault, 5th Degree Assault, Domestic Assault, Interfering with a 911 Call and Obstructing the Legal Process. Additionally, Dunigan has a conviction in U.S. Federal Court for Distribution of Cocaine.
