Mayor to Recognize National Service Programs and Volunteers
[Duluth, MN] - On Tuesday, April 25, 2016, from 12-1 PM, Duluth Mayor Emily Larson will celebrate the 5th Annual Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service. Duluth is one of over 4,000 communities nationwide hosting events to honor and recognize the contributions of our National Service members and area volunteers who impact so many lives. The program will include remarks from Mayor Larson and Samuel Schuth with the Corporation for National Service office based in Minneapolis. Attendees are invited to remain for light refreshments following the short program.
All National Service members and site supervisors, as well as those who help run our local National Service programs, are invited to attend.

In addition, April 23-29 is National Volunteer Week. Every year, Head of the Lakes United Way distributes nearly 3,000 purple ribbons to volunteers in the Duluth area. In coordination with the Purple Ribbon campaign, Mayor Larson is pleased to invite volunteers to the reception, as well, to recognize the power and impact of all “service” in Duluth.
