Notice of Temporary Road Closure: 9^th Street East Bound Closure at 6^th Ave East

from April 18-21, 2017

[Duluth, MN] - The city of Duluth Public Works and Utilities department is informing the public about the upcoming temporary closure of east bound lane of 9^th Street at the intersection of 6^th Ave. East, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18th. This closure will allow for the patching of the pavement due to a prior watermain break. The west bound lane will remain open to traffic.

The work will also require the closure of the right lane of north bound 6^th Avenue East just below 9^th Street.  The closure is anticipated to last the full week unless work is completed in a shorter period of time. 

The public should consider alternate routes when heading east from downtown onto 9^th Street. Motorists should expect traffic back ups during the morning and afternoon rush hours on 6^th Ave. East headed north. Please build in additional travel time. The Duluth Transit Authority will detour their bus route for this project and utilize 10^th Street, turn at 7^th Ave East, and head down to 9^th Street to continue east. The west bound route into downtown will remain unchanged.
