City Conducting Pavement and Sidewalk Improvements on 4th Street

 

[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth is making improvements to the sidewalks and pavement along 4th Street from Mesaba Ave to  6th Ave East.  The project preparations have started already and will take about 6 weeks to complete, or until August 11.  Various stretches of 4th Street will be marked as no parking to accommodate the sidewalk and pavement patching work. The road will remain open to traffic during the project.  The Avenues will need to be closed for very short periods during paving to compact the pavement and let it cool. The final product will ensure smoother improved conditions for commuters and better accessible sidewalks for pedestrians.

 

The contractor is starting from 6th Ave East and will work towards the west. Either the north or south side sidewalk will remain open on any give block during sidewalk improvements with closure signage posted.
