4th Street Pavement and Sidewalk Improvement Update for July 27

 

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is informing the public of revised plans for the 4th Street and 4th Ave West pavement and sidewalk improvement project. The contractor has had some unexpected delays but anticipates starting the chip seal work starting August 1st, pending favorable weather. The work would begin at 9 pm and be completed by 6 am the following day. During the chip seal work, 4th Street would be closed to traffic from Mesaba Ave to 6th Ave East. Emergency vehicles would still have access.

 

In addition, repairs to a failing catch basin will also take place next week on 4th Ave West at 4th Street. The southbound 4th Ave West segment off of Mesaba Ave will be closed to traffic for several days to allow concrete to cure. Southbound Mesaba Ave traffic will need to use another route into downtown.
