City of Duluth to host Technical Assistance Session for upcoming grant opportunities
to address community revitalization
[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth’s Community Planning office will hold a technical assistance session for prospective applicants to learn more about applying for funding through the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership, and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) programs. The session will include a brief overview of program requirements, review the application process, and answer questions from prospective applicants. The technical assistance session will be Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10:30 AM and in the Green Room at the Duluth Public Library (520 W Superior Street, Duluth, MN 55802).
The City of Duluth annually receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist persons with low and moderate incomes (up to $53,750 for a family of four) and serve neighborhoods where a majority of low and moderate income people reside. Each year the Community Development Committee reviews applications and recommends grant funding for efforts that can demonstrate an impact on housing stability, economic development, public services, and public facility improvements. Eligible applicants include nonprofit agencies, for-profit businesses, governmental units and institutions of higher education. (Individuals are not eligible to apply.)
Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to attend the technical assistance session. More information on the application process can also be found at http://www.duluthmn.gov/community-planning/community-development-funding/. The application deadline is September 1, 2017 at 4PM. Community Planning staff is happy to meet individually with those unable to attend the information session on August 1st. Please contact the Community Planning office to learn more.
