Mayor Emily Larson and Congressman Rick Nolan to Celebrate $750,000 National Park Service Grant for Lincoln Park
Location: Lincoln Park –main entrance, West 3rd Street at 25th Ave West, Duluth
[Duluth, MN] - Duluth Mayor Emily Larson will be joined by Congressman Rick Nolan and many community members on August 3rd at 4:00 PM in Lincoln Park, located at West 3rd Street and 25th Avenue West, to celebrate the recent $750,000 grant award from the National Park Service, which will be dedicated to significant park improvements in Duluth’s oldest and most historic park. In July 2016, Congressman Nolan urged the Director of the National Park Service to support the City’s request. He has also championed the effort in Congress to reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which funds the grant. This grant award is a first for greater Minnesota and closes the gap on the final funding needed to fully complete the Lincoln Park Mini-master Plan.
The Mayor and Congressman will make remarks and officially kick-off park improvements in Lincoln Park set to start this month.
