Utility Repair Underway on East Superior Street and 34th Ave East

Detour in Place

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth discovered a failed storm drain pipe which caused the soil to washout at the intersection of East Superior Street and 34^th Ave East. The intersection has been closed to traffic while the City of Duluth and its contractor make repairs to the pipe and the road surface. The closure is in place and the City of Duluth anticipates the work to continue today and into tomorrow. The City anticipates reopening the intersection by tomorrow evening. There is a signed detour for motorists to go up 33^rd Ave E to 1^st Street then over to 35^th Ave East and back down to Superior Street.

The City asks motorists to drive slowly and to add in additional travel time as there will be traffic delays.  Bus route information is posted on the www.duluthtransit.com website.
