Duluth Seeks Input on Downtown Avenue Conversion Project

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities department implemented a pilot project over the summer to convert three downtown Duluth avenues (West First, West Second and West Third Avenues) from one-way to two-way to enable improved circulation and access to downtown businesses. First, Second and Third Avenues West between Lake Avenue and West 4th Avenue and Superior Street and 4th Street were converted to two way travel with some intersections using temporary traffic control facilities such as stop signs or bagged traffic signals.

The City is interested in learning more about the public's reactions to these changes, how the changes affected travel and commutes and whether the intersection traffic control facilities should be altered. The City has created an online survey to capture public comments which will be active until October 13, 2017, https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/duluthavenues

Comments will be collected and analyzed to determine the final configuration.
