SUBJECT: Male Arrested and Formally Charged in St. Louis District Court on 2nd Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance

INCIDENT LOCATION: 2400 block of West 4th Street in Duluth

On October 17th, 2017, Investigators from the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force arrested a 27 year old male from Duluth on probable cause charges of two felony counts of 2nd Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance, one count of gross misdemeanor Child Endangerment and one count of misdemeanor Fleeing Police on Foot. The arrest occurred in the 2400 block of West 4th Street in the City of Duluth.  When Investigators attempted to detain the suspect he fled on foot but was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. Investigators recovered heroin and cocaine packaged for sale and U.S. currency from the suspect. An Investigator received minor injuries during the arrest. Investigators later executed a search warrant related to the arrest at an apartment in the 2400 block of West 4th Street. During the search warrant Investigators recovered more U.S. currency. The suspect was lodged at the St. Louis County Jail pending formal charges by the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office.


On October 20, 2017 27 year old Datione Benjamin Warren was formally charged in Saint Louis County District Court with 2nd Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance in a School/Park/Public Housing Zone, 2 counts of child neglect, and fleeing police on foot.  Warren is currently in custody at the Saint Louis County Jail in Duluth.  Warren’s bail has been set at $100,000.00 and he has been placed on a hold by the Minnesota Department of Corrections for parole violation.
