Utility work to temporarily close West Superior Street on November 20

(closure to start at 9:30 am)

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities department is notifying the public of a temporary closure of the eastbound lane of Superior Street headed into downtown Duluth due to a large water valve replacement project on Monday, November 20 at 9:30 am. This project is necessary as a preparatory measure before the start of Superior Street reconstruction next year. 

Access to downtown via West Michigan Street, Mesaba Ave and 5th Ave West off I35 will be maintained. City staff expect to close off Eastbound traffic on West Superior Street from near the M&H gas station to 6th Ave West starting at 9:30 AM, which will not disrupt the morning rush hour. The closure is expected to last about 14 hours and will then reopen to traffic. Westbound traffic headed out of downtown can access the freeway using Superior Street or First Street to Mesaba Ave.
