Duluth Residents Encouraged to Fill Boards and Commissions Vacancies

[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth Boards and Commissions has openings and is seeking applications from the community representing diverse backgrounds and experiences with a commitment towards public service. The City has multiple Boards and Commission seat currently open or will become open to applicants in the coming month. The City of Duluth encourages interested residents to consider how they can help by reviewing the list and submitting an application to become part of important discussions that help make Duluth a great city.

Board Commissioners work on issues related to parks, human rights, the airport, special assessments, planning and zoning and public safety to name a few. The impact of volunteers is significant to creating a transparent and welcoming municipal government residents expect.

Mayor Emily Larson expressed her excitement at the possibilities. “Duluth is a city that has come full circle in realizing its potential. People choose to move here for work and play. They choose to be engaged and informed. We know that when people are able to participate, we are a better government serving its residents. It’s an easy application process and for most positions, there’s no experience necessary. I encourage our residents to look at how they can contribute their talents."

Interested applicants can read more about each Board or Commission and access the online application at, http://duluthmn.gov/boards-commissions/

Questions can be directed to the City Clerk’s office at (218) 730-5500.
