Twin Ports' Olympians to be Honored February 27 at the DECC

 

[Duluth, MN] -  The community is invited to honor and celebrate the Twin Ports' 2018 Olympians at a special public recognition program on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center, Lake Superior Ballroom from 4:30-6:00 pm. Members of the U.S. Women's and Men's Curling Teams, Cross Country Skiing Coach Chad Salmela and other Olympic team representatives will be present. 

 

Doors will open at 4:30 pm with the program to commence at 5:00 pm. The athletes will enter the ballroom under a canopy of curling brooms! Mayor Emily Larson and Superior Mayor Jim Paine will make remarks and present a proclamation and special honor. Attendees will have a chance to hear from the Olympic athletes. Video highlights from hockey and curling will be presented by KBJR. Following the program, the public will have an opportunity to interact with our Twin Ports Olympians! 

 

Free parking is provided until 6 pm courtesy of the DECC. Many thanks to the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center, Duluth Curling Club, University of Minnesota Duluth, The College of St. Scholastica, KBJR, and the Duluth and Superior Police Departments for their contributions to this special event.

  

The team will arrive home to cheering family, friends and fans Monday evening at 5:00 pm at the Duluth International Airport and will be escorted by Duluth and Superior Police as they depart for home from the airport.
