Duluth Assistant Attorney recognized for excellence in public service


 
 

Duluth Assistant City Attorney Bob Asleson has been selected among his peers to receive the Minnesota State Bar Association’s 2010 Public Attorney Award of Excellence. Mr. Asleson has worked as a Duluth Assistant City Attorney for 40 years.

 

“Bob is a man of integrity, provides the highest caliber of service, and possesses great legal talent. We are very appreciative of his dedication and service to the citizens of Duluth,” said Gunnar Johnson, Duluth City Attorney. 

 

Mr. Asleson has provided legal expertise to the City on important matters during his career such as the Northwest Passage and other skywalk projects which served as catalysts for downtown revitalization. He has served as legal counsel to the Duluth Airport Authority, the Spirit Mountain Recreation Area Authority, and the Duluth Economic Development Authority. Mr. Asleson most recently authored the ordinances which established the City’s administrative fines program and the Public Utilities Commission.      

 

Mr. Asleson will be honored at an awards luncheon on May 14, in Saint Paul.
