Duluth "Community Day" to Feature Free Events and Activities

[Duluth, MN ] - Mayor Emily Larson is inviting the public to learn more about Duluth's major tourist attractions with a special "Community Day" event intended to highlight the wonders and experiences offered in Duluth.

Mayor Larson's administration is spearheading this initiative. "This year, members of our tourism industry, in partnership with Visit Duluth and the City of Duluth, are trying something a little different. We’re launching a series of “Community Days,” where special offers are available to attend one of the many amazing attractions and experiences found only in Duluth."

"The goal is to ensure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from the industry that our community invests in through tourism tax. Whether you live here, work here or both – we are proud to showcase some of the best Duluth has to offer. The Lake Superior Zoo, Great Lakes Aquarium, Spirit Mountain and numerous other organizations that call Duluth home, are excited to welcome you," said Mayor Larson.

Participating organizations are:

Great Lakes Aquarium (April 2, 10 am - 6 pm, Free admission and free parking for Duluth residents and students)

Duluth Depot (April 4, 9 am - 7 pm, Free admission)

Greater Downtown Council (April 4, 11 am - 2 pm, Free face painting and balloon animals at the Depot)

Lake Superior Zoo (April 4, 11 am - 4 pm, Free admission)

Duluth Sister Cities International (May 23, 12 pm - 8 pm, open house at DSCI office)

Glensheen (May 24, 9 Am - 4pm, free classic tours)

Spirit Mountain Adventure Park (May 24, 4-8 pm, free Timber Twister rides)

Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroads (August 3, 5:30 pm, Free rides along the St. Louis River)
