Duluth Public Meeting on April 16 to Discuss Water Main Project in Lakeside Neighborhood
[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is planning to replace a series of water mains in the Lakeside neighborhood this summer. The City will be targeting the water main on Norwood Street and 47th Avenue East and also on Wyoming Street this summer. A public meeting has been scheduled to review the project with residents on April 16th. Residents are invited to attend the public meeting and provide input on the project. These projects are required due to the occurrence of multiple water main breaks per year in this area.
The limits of the first project are from the 47th Avenue East/Oakley Street intersection, heading North on 47th Avenue East to the Norwood intersection, then heading West on Norwood Street for approximately 650 feet, and also heading East for approximately 630 feet. The limits of the second project are from the Crosley Avenue/Wyoming Street intersection, heading West on Wyoming Street for approximately 1000 feet ending in the North 51st Avenue East Intersection.
Construction is scheduled to take place in late May into August of this year. The public input meeting will be held on Monday, April 16 at the Great Lakes Gospel Church (4501 Glenwood Street), from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. City staff will make a short presentation about the project followed by an open discussion to address individual questions. Discussion topics will include construction agenda, construction timeline, and future goals.
Anyone with questions or those who cannot attend the meeting, can send written comments by email to Scott Hegg at shegg@duluthmn.gov by May 1st, 2018.
