Watermain project scheduled for April 30 on Mesaba Ave and West 4th Street

 

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Public Works Department is informing the public of a water main upgrade project scheduled to start Monday, April 30th at West 4th Street and Mesaba Avenue. A portion of West 4th Street will be closed between Mesaba Ave and Fourth Ave West beginning at 5:00 am on Monday, April 30th.  The closure of this block is expected to last approximately two weeks. In order to make the line connections, crews will then need to close the north bound lanes of Mesaba Ave at 4th Street on the weekend of May 4, 5, and 6 with traffic detoured to West 2nd Street. The project will recommence in the southbound Mesaba Avenue lanes the following weekend on May 11, 12, and 13 thus redirecting traffic down 4th Ave West. 
 
The detour routes will be posted. Motorists are asked to follow signed detour routes.
