Duluth Charter Commission Seeking Applicants
[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Charter Commission has openings for 4 new members who want to help the City succeed and best serve residents in accordance with the City Charter. The Charter contains regulations that help administer city services. The Charter Commission acts on matters relating to the framing and revisions of the Duluth City Charter.
The Commission consists of 15 members serving 4-year terms who are appointed by Judges of the District Court. Each member is required to be a qualified voter of the City. Meetings are efficiently managed and address pertinent pressing matters.
John Strongitharm is a former member of the Charter Commission and had this to share about his time of service. “On the Charter Commission you will take part in making decisions that frame the city’s government. The Commission tackles important issues that are critical to the success of Duluth and a smooth-running government. The Charter Commission is perfect for individuals that want to give back to our City without a large demand on your time. I have greatly enjoyed my time as a commission member and encourage others to apply.”
