INCIDENT LOCATION: University Drive & St. Marie St
[DULUTH, MN] - On Saturday, October 13, UMD will host their annual Homecoming Parade. This year's parade route will be on the UMD Campus, and coincides with the UMD Homecoming football game.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., traffic will not be allowed on University Drive through the UMD campus. At 10:45 a.m., eastbound traffic will not be allowed on St. Marie Street between Kirby Drive and Carver Avenue.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., parade units will form in Lot "B" off of College St., near University Drive. At 11:00 a.m. the parade will travel through the UMD campus on University Drive to St. Marie Street, then turn left onto St. Marie St. to disband. Traffic on Kirby Drive will not be restricted during the parade.
Traffic will be allowed onto Junction Avenue from College Street, but only to allow access to the parking lots located along Junction Ave. and Oakland Avenue. Eastbound traffic on St. Marie Street will not be allowed past Kirby Drive. Traffic in the westbound traffic lane on St. Marie St. may encounter delays, but the lane will remain open.
Vehicles going to the Tailgate Lots on University Drive during the parade will be allowed to access the lots in one coned lane that leads to those lots only. Access to those lots will only be from westbound St. Marie St. from Carver Avenue.
DTA bus service will not be interrupted during the parade.
Traffic should return to normal by 12:00 noon.
Drivers are urged to use caution when driving in the area of this event.
