[DULUTH, MN] - On Sunday, November 11th, the Veteran's Day March will be held in Downtown Duluth. Marchers will gather in front of the Depot, on Michigan Street, starting at 9:00 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., after a brief ceremony, the March will proceed southbound on 5th Avenue West, over I-35, to the West Gate of the DECC. The March will end by 11:00 a.m. and a ceremony will follow inside the DECC.
To facilitate event setup, the 500 block of W. Michigan Street, in front of the Depot, will close to through-traffic from 9:00 a.m. until the end of the March at approximately 11:00 a.m.
Starting at 10:10 a.m. 5th Ave. W. will close to through-traffic from Michigan St. to Harbor Drive. During the March, vehicles exiting northbound I-35 at 5th Ave. W. must either turn down the Connector to Railroad Street or proceed behind the DECC on Harbor Drive, while vehicles exiting southbound I-35 at 5th Ave. W. must only turn up (northbound) 5th Ave. W. during the March.
The DECC and Aquarium will remain accessible throughout the March. Southbound I-35 motorists and motorists from the Downtown area should take Lake Avenue to Railroad St. to access the DECC and Aquarium during the March. Motorists from northbound I-35 can take the 5th Ave. W. exit to access Downtown via Railroad St. to Lake Ave., as well as the DECC, and Aquarium, throughout the March.
Roads will re-open to traffic by 11:00 a.m.
Drivers are asked to use caution when driving in the area of the March, and follow the direction of Officers posted in the area.
