INCIDENT LOCATION: 100 block N 18th Ave E

DULUTH, MN] – On 2/1/2019 the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force conducted a search warrant on the person of Thomas Nathan Billington (30) and motor vehicle on the 100 block of North 18th Ave E in Duluth, MN. Investigators recovered $2900 in cash and 6 grams of fentanyl packaged for sale. During a search of his residence located at the 2100 block of W 3rd St, investigators recovered an additional 23 grams of fentanyl, 37 grams of heroin, and 11 grams of cocaine. Also recovered were drug packaging, drug ledgers, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia.

On 2/5/2019 Billington was formally charged in St. Louis County Court with 1st Degree Sale of Heroin, 2nd Degree Sale of Fentanyl and 2nd Degree Sale of Cocaine.

During his interview with investigators, Billington indicated that he could not tell the difference between heroin and fentanyl. Both are dangerous, but as indicated in the picture, just a few grains of fentanyl can kill an adult. This is a reminder that dealers do not have quality control and may not even know what they are selling.

If you or someone you know has a problem with these highly addictive substances, call the Opioid Hotline at 218-730-4009. You will learn about resources and help that could save a life.
