[DULUTH, MN] - The Duluth Police Department is working with the BerryDunn Assessment team to conduct an organizational assessment to enhance and improve upon our mission. The mission of the Duluth Police Department is to provide a safe Duluth for all by strengthening relationships and serving in a respectful, caring, and selfless manner. The DPD works towards this mission by regularly engaging with community organizations, businesses, and individual residents. To kick off the Duluth Police Department’s Organizational Assessment, consultants BerryDunn will host two listening forums to gain public feedback about the DPD.

Citizen’s attending are encouraged to provide feedback to two primary questions:

  • What does the DPD do well?
  • What does the DPD need to improve upon?

An important part of this process is engaging and listening to the community’s perspective to ensure their police department is on a path that aligns with our community. The desired outcome of the assessment is to gather stakeholder feedback and improve upon the following:

  • Community trust
  • Customer and stakeholder confidence
  • Operational best practices
  • Productivity
  • Workforce satisfaction

The listening sessions will be hosted on two different days:

April 9th

5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

401 N 44th Ave W

April 10th

5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

For those who wish to provide comments, but are unable to do so in person, an online feedback portal has been established. If you wish to provide written input about the police department, you can click on this LINK, which will open a browser and redirect you to the feedback site. The online feedback portal will be open for public comment through April 30, 2019.

This feedback process does not collect personal identification information, and BerryDunn does not intend to release or share individual responses. However, it is possible that responses might be made public based on a legal challenge or demand. Accordingly, you are encouraged to frame your responses in a way that would not suggest or reveal your identity.
