Mayor Emily Larson to Provide Update on Legislative Session

[Duluth, MN] Mayor Emily Larson will provide an update on Duluth’s legislative priorities, and how they align with the state budget. Minnesota legislative leaders and the governor announced a budget deal on May 19th, spending $48 billion in the next two years. The City of Duluth has been advocating for several key items including the voter-approved half-percent sales tax dedicated for streets, assistance for the Essentia Health-St. Luke’s medical campus, affordable housing, and many others.

Mayor Larson will make remarks and be available for questions. Senator Erik Simonson, Representative Jennifer Schultz, and Representative Liz Olson have been invited, but not confirmed at this time.

The legislature is scheduled to finalize the budget in a one-day special session this Thursday.
