 Mill and Overlay Project to Begin on South Lake Avenue

[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth street maintenance crews will be conducting a mill and overlay project on South Lake Avenue from approximately 150 feet south of the Aerial Lift Bridge to Thirteenth Street South. The project will begin, weather permitting, on Wednesday, May 29^th, 2019 and continue to approximately Wednesday, June 19^th, 2019.

The project will consist of milling and overlaying both driving lanes and parking lanes. Traffic flow will be maintained in both directions during the duration of the project, and sidewalks and driveways inside the construction zone will also be accessible. While work is underway during the daytime, the following side streets will be inaccessible from South Lake Avenue to maintain safety, but will remain accessible from Minnesota Avenue via Eleventh Street South which will remain open throughout the project:

• Eighth Street South
• Ninth Street South
• Tenth Street South
• Twelfth Street South
• Thirteenth Street South

These streets will re-open when work concludes for any given day. Eleventh Street South will remain open throughout the project to maintain access to Minnesota Avenue, as well as the above streets when work stops for the evenings.

The City asks that residents and visitors be mindful of the neighborhood when traveling through the construction zone, and please observe all parking regulations such as alternate side street parking. There will be no parking on South Lake Avenue inside the construction zone.
