Monday, July 8 at Mt. Royal Branch Library – 105 Mt. Royal Shopping Circle
Mt. Royal Readers’ Guild – 2:30 – 3:30 pm: Want to join a “secret” readers’ guild? Let’s read Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library together & unlock the secrets through puzzles and activities. 

Watering Wisely - 6:00 - 7:00 pm: Learn how soil texture affects water movement and key ideas on what, when, where, and how to water trees, shrubs, grass, plants. Correct watering will give you healthier plants and help to conserve water. Presented by St. Louis County Master Gardeners.

Monday, July 8 at Bayfront Festival Park – 350 Harbor Drive, Duluth
Bayfront Story and Play – 6 pm – 7 pm: Enjoy the summertime views from the Bayfront Family Center with Duluth Parks and Recreation & the Duluth Public Library! We are joining forces to bring you Bayfront Story and Play! Bring your own picnic and blanket and join us for a family story time at Bayfront Park. Stories, songs, and fingerplays will begin at the scheduled time. Families are welcome to play and picnic before and after the storytime. Duluth Parks & Recreation will be there with extra equipment for young children to utilize.

 

Tuesday, July 9 at Main Library – 520 West Superior Street
Kaleidoscope: Kenny Ahern – 10:30 am and 1:30 pm: Kenny Ahern’s shows are filled with AMAZING comedy antics, HILARIOUS physical comedy, and FUN audience play! Senior Moments: Yoga – 11:00 am: Gentle Yoga and Stretching for Seniors.  Yoga can help increase flexibility, relax muscles, and reduce anxiety or stress.  Wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement.

 

Wednesday, July 10 at Main Library – 520 West Superior Street
Special Musical Storytime - 10:15 am and 11:15 am: Join us for special storytimes featuring musical guest Robi Meyerson! Children will enjoy plenty of dancing, singing, and early literacy fun. In the Gold Room. 

Storytime Stay & Play – 10:30 am – 12:00 pm: Stay and play after storytime with Duluth Parks and Recreation! Join us at 10:15 am for Baby and Toddler time or at 11:15 for Preschool Storytime. Stay after storytime for large motor and imaginative play provided by Duluth Parks and Recreation. This event is for children birth through preschool. In the Green Room. 

Old MacDonald Had a Banjo - 1:30 pm: The children’s show, Old MacDonald Had a Banjo, imagines a farm full of songs bursting out to entertain, educate, and involve the audience in singing, movement, and silliness. Folk musician Paul Imholte plays the part of Old MacDonald as he sings original and classic children’s songs. During the show, Paul will play fiddle, guitar, hammered dulcimer, autoharp, cello, harmonica, spoons, jaw harp, and, of course, banjo. Children and adults alike will leave the show singing and enjoying this energetic program. In the Green Room.

Old MacDonald Had a Banjo - 10:30 am: The children’s show, Old MacDonald Had a Banjo, imagines a farm full of songs bursting out to entertain, educate, and involve the audience in singing, movement, and silliness. Folk musician Paul Imholte plays the part of Old MacDonald as he sings original and classic children’s songs. During the show, Paul will play fiddle, guitar, hammered dulcimer, autoharp, cello, harmonica, spoons, jaw harp, and, of course, banjo. Children and adults alike will leave the show singing and enjoying this energetic program. **Please note: this is in place of the regular weekly storytime.

Read to a Dog – 3:30 – 4:30 pm: Kids are invited to read a story to a good listener with big ears! These one-on-one read-aloud sessions with a licensed therapy dog are a great way to practice reading in a comfortable, low-stress environment. Drop-in sessions available on a first come first served basis. Games and activities available while you wait.

Vegan Cookbook Club – 11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Bring one or more vegan cookbooks and one or more recipes from the books that you have tried or would like to try. If possible, bring a few copies of the recipe to share. Also bring your questions and discoveries about plant-based cooking and baking.

Fun for Kids! – 10:30 am – 1 pm: Looking for fun and free activities for children this summer? Stop by the library on Thursdays from 10:30 am-1 pm for our weekly event Fun for Kids! Each week will have a variety of crafts, games, and activities for kids entering grades K-5. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. In the Green Room.

Resisting Removal: The Sandy Lake Tragedy of 1850 - 6:00 -7:00 pm: 
Join us for a visit from Colin Mustful, author of the novel, Resisting Removal: The Sandy Lake Tragedy of 1850. He will speak about his new novel, the Sandy Lake Tragedy, his experience publishing, his MFA program in Creative Writing, and his recent challenges navigating this important and sensitive history. Books will be available for purchase. In the Green Room.
