[DULUTH, MN] On Friday, July 12, 2019 at 9:30 AM, DPD investigators and the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant on the 900 Block of E 4th St in Duluth, MN. Investigators located heroin, a digital scale, and an additional 40g of heroin that suspects were in the process of packaging for sale. A week prior this address was the scene of an overdose, which required medical attention and police response. The suspects showed a disregard for the safety of two small children by exposing them to an environment of controlled substances. The children were removed from the scene and brought to safety. Also recovered was stolen property from several recent car prowls.

Emily Anne Thompson (20) and Malcolm Xavier Lewis (27) were charged with 1st Degree Sale of Heroin. Damon Halliburton (49) was charged with 1st Degree Sale of Heroin and Child Endangerment.

The Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force focuses on targeting suspects who are selling controlled substances in our community and taking advantage of those addicted to these dangerous drugs. Additionally, the Task Force works with Opioid Technician, Jess McCarthy, to reach out to individuals who are trapped in the cycle of addiction to help them get on a path to recovery. If you or someone you know needs help or advice, please call the Opioid Hotline at 218-730-4009.
