1st Avenue East to Reopen August 8th

[Duluth, MN]  First Avenue East will reopen to traffic on August 8th.  A press conference will be held at 9:30 a.m. to celebrate the opening of the first avenue completed under Phase II of the Superior Street Reconstruction Project.  An update on the overall project will be given, in addition to personal testimony from a local business owner, and the opportunity for questions and answers. The press conference will be located on First Avenue East along the side of Duluth Coffee Company.

Of note, with the opening of First Avenue East prompts the closure of third Avenue East to vehicular traffic. Traffic on Michigan Street from First Avenue East through Fourth Avenue East will convert to two-way for the remainder of the Phase II Superior Street Reconstruction Project.
