[DULUTH, MN] The Far West Days Community Celebration starts Friday, August 23, and continues through Sunday, August 25.  

On Saturday, August 24, Commonwealth Avenue, between Gary Street and Reis Street, will close to traffic at 8:00 a.m. and will remain closed until approximately 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25.  Barricades, detours, and one-way streets will remain in place overnight Saturday into Sunday.

During the event, traffic will be detoured to 99th and 101st Avenues West.  99th Avenue West will be signed one-way northbound, and 101st Avenue West will be signed one-way southbound. 

Southbound traffic on Commonwealth Ave. will be directed west on Reis Street, south on 101st Avenue West to Gary Street, then east on Gary Street to Commonwealth Avenue. 

Northbound traffic on Commonwealth Ave. will be directed east on Gary Street , north on 99th Avenue West to Reis Street, then west on Reis Street to Commonwealth Avenue. 

DTA buses will follow the detoured routes. 

Sections of Gary Street, Reis Street, 99th Avenue West, and 101st Avenue West will be posted no parking to accommodate vehicle, bus, and truck traffic during street closure times.

Drivers are asked to use caution in the area during this event, and to watch for detours, barricades, no parking signs, and officers directing traffic.
