[DULUTH, MN] On 08/20/19, Duluth Police and members of the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Isaac Curtis, a 29-year-old resident of Duluth. Curtis was wanted on a felony warrant for violation of parole as well as additional charges of Possession of Methamphetamine. Police arrested Curtis at a residence in the 2800 block of Exeter Street in Duluth. The Duluth Police Department’s Tactical Response Team was utilized for the high-risk arrest because of Curtis’s history of violence and fleeing police. During the arrest attempt, Curtis disobeyed commands to exit the residence and eventually jumped out a window and fled. Curtis was arrested a short distance from the residence.
Curtis had been on the run since July of this year. On July 27, 2019, Curtis was arrested on a parole violation but escaped custody and fled from a residence in the 3300 block of Minnesota Avenue. During a search of that residence officers discovered approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine and other evidence of methamphetamine sales.
On 08/23/19, Curtis was formally charged with 3rd Degree Possession of Methamphetamine. He remains in custody at the Saint Louis County Jail in Duluth.
Curtis has previous criminal convictions for 3rd Degree Assault, Felony Domestic Assault, Auto Theft, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
