Mayor Larson, Others to Host Mayor’s Pride Reception Thursday

[Duluth, MN] Mayor Larson and mayors from surrounding communities will welcome residents and visitors for the Mayor’s Pride Reception on August 29, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Duluth Depot. The annual event will kick off Duluth’s Pride celebration during Labor Day weekend. The reception will include food, cocktails, live music, and a presentation honoring outstanding contributors to the GLBTQ community.

“This is one of my favorite events of the year,” Mayor Emily Larson said. “Everyone is welcome in Duluth, regardless of who you are, or who you love. I am honored to serve as one of the hosts for an event that promotes inclusivity as Pride Fest does.”

On August 29 beginning at 3:00 p.m., Michigan Street will close to traffic from Mesaba Avenue to 5th Avenue West until approximately 9:00 p.m. to allow for event set up and tear down. This closure will include the Michigan Street exit off northbound Interstate 35 near the base of Mesaba Avenue.

Sixth Avenue West will be converted to two-way traffic between Superior Street and Michigan Street to allow access to the Depot Parking Ramp and the Gateway Apartments parking lot from Superior Street.
