The Race Card Project - 12:00 - 1:00 pm: This event will be an opportunity to learn about The Race Card Project. This event will be facilitated by Carl Crawford, City of Duluth Human Rights Officer. The Race Card Project is a national project that was created by Michele Norris.  At the Main Duluth Public Library, we will have cards available in the Superior Street lobby in September, October, and November.  Participants are welcomed to write six words on a card about their experiences with race, and then give them to a public service desk to be posted.  Project creator Michele Norris writes, “Race Cards can be thoughtful, funny, heartbreaking, brave, teeming with anger and shimmering with hope….The intention is to use these cards to get a peek at America’s honest views about race.” How has race affected your life?  Share your story, and see others’ stories as well.  Let’s talk about it!
